$3,010 will go directly to support the marine conservation work of the Nature Conservation Council of NSW.
They undertake excellent shark conservation activities including:
- advocating for protection of the east coast population of grey nurse sharks
- increasing public awareness about, and working for aequate protection for the numerous species of threatened and endangered sharks that are stilol commercially exploited for their fins
- working to protect marine habitats in sanctuaries
- ensuring sustainable fisheries by working with both commercial and recreational fisheries
