Teachers - shark stuff!

To help raise money towards my shark conservation trip, I am offering shark sessions during Term 1 ONLY.

I have a lot of experience providing both teacher PD workshops and student sessions, with lots of positive feedback.

Teacher PD workshops

I will be running at least one workshop during Term 1, which will be advertised.

However, if you want me to come and run a teacher PD workshop at your school, or if you want to cluster with nearby schools, I can run a one hour workshop where you can:

  • learn about sharks, their biology and conservation
  • pick up shark teaching resources
  • examine specimens of shark skin, jaws, and eggs

A minimum of ten teachers is required to run a workshop, and I can only offer these in the Adelaide - Victor Harbor region.

Cost: $12 per person

Student sessions

For Y3-11, I can offer a session, running approximately 45-60 minutes (to fit with your school timetable).

Provide your students with a thrill learning about sharks!  I will provide a presentation about sharks, their biology and conservation, and some tips to avoid shark attacks.  They will also have the opportunity to examine specimens of shark skin, jaws and teeth.

This is an excellent opportunity to provide your students with a structured learning unit around sharks, including some maths, science and SOSE.  Provide them with the chance to do some research before the visit, and to prepare some questions.

Cost:

  • $75 15-30 students
  • $125 over 30 students

All proceeds will be donated to the Shark Swim Challenge.
